Sensex, Nifty Opens Tad Higher on Wed, Tracking Positive Global Cues

The benchmark domestic indices opened the trading session in green on Wednesday, tracking positive sentiment in the global market. 

The NSE Nifty 50 opened 0.08% higher at 22,548, while the BSE Sensex opened 0.05% higher at 73,989.89.

The broader indices opened in the green. However, Bank Nifty index opened 45.45 points or 0.09% lower at 48,002.75.

Shares of Apollo Tyres rose 5.7% after a block deal involving 2.25 crore shares, or 3.5% took place.

Coal India, Reliance, Hindustan Unilever, and UltraTech Cement were the top gainers on the Nifty 50 whereas top laggards included, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, JSW Steel, and Hindalco.

Shares of BHEL plunged over 8% to an intraday low of Rs 295 in the early trading session after the company reported a 25% drop in PAT YoY in Q4FY24.
