Nifty, Sensex Opens Higher, Led by Gains in Metal and Pharma Stocks
Benchmark equity indices opened Tuesday’s trading session in positive territory with Nifty 50 gaining 0.19% at 22,977.15 and Sensex jumping 0.26% at 75,585.40 in the opening trade.
Broader indices opened trading in mixed territory and the Bank Nifty index opened higher by 109.10 points or 0.22% to settle at 49,390.90.
Among the top gainers were Hindalco Ind, Shriram Finance, Wipro, Adani Ent and NTPC while major laggards were Maruti Suzuki India, Bajaj Auto, BPCL, Britannia Ind, and Bharti Airtel.
The NSE has added Biocon, GNFC, Hindustan Copper, Vodafone Idea, and Piramal Enterprises in the F&O on May 28, 2024.
