About Tata Motors Ltd
Tata Motors Ltd., a leading multinational car manufacturer with its head office in Mumbai, India, was formerly known as TATTAWA Engineering and TERTELCO. Passenger cars, coaches, premium vehicles, trucks, sports cars, vans, buses, and construction equipment are produced by the Tata Motors Limited group. Tata Motors Ltd. is the top vehicle manufacturer in the world. A solid international network of 86 subsidiary and associate businesses, which include Jaguar Land Rover in the UK and Tata Daewoo in South Korea, allows Tata Motors, the biggest automobile manufacturer in India and a part of the USD 37 billion Tata Group, to operate in the countries like South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, and the UK. In 1954, India's largest automobile manufacturer, Tata Motors, began its journey there. The journey was launched in a joint venture with the German firm Daimler-Benz. In 1945 it was incorporated as a public limited company under 1913’s Indian Companies Act VII. Playing its cards early, Tata soon dominated the Indian commercial vehicle market and yearned to extend its international boundaries. Among the top manufacturers of passenger cars in India, with 9 million vehicles on Indian roads, Tata Motors is a commercial vehicle market leader. Tata Motors aims to develop new products that provoke the imagination of GenNext customers through its design and research and development centres in India, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Korea. Its range of motor vehicles includes everything from small, medium, and big buses and coaches to passenger cars, as well as trucks ranging in weight from under one tonne to 49 tonnes (GVW), including pickup trucks. Its production facilities are in Jamshedpur, Pune, Lucknow, Pantnagar, Dharwad, and Sanand. In 1945, Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. Ltd. was established as Tata Motors Ltd. to produce locomotives and engineering products. In collaboration with Marshall Sons UK Ltd., the company introduced the steam road roller in 1948. They cooperated with Daimler Benz AG, West Germany, to produce medium-sized commercial vehicles from 1954 onward. They set up the Research and Development Center in Jamshedpur in 1959. They began exporting products in 1961, and the first truck was sent to Sri Lanka. Launching its more refined version, the Indica V2, a popular favourite, fueled TATA's global business engine. This was only the beginning of the business; in 2004, Tata Motors Ltd. bought the South Korean truck manufacturing division of Daewoo and rebranded it Tata Daewoo. Tata Motors debuted on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) the following year. Tata Motors owned a 21% stake in Spanish bus and coach maker Hispano Carrocera by 2005. For Tata, acquiring Jaguar Land Rover in 2008 was a significant accomplishment. The sale of the jointly created (with Tata Daewoo) Tata World Truck line, distributed in South Africa, South Korea, the Middle East, and the SAARC nations, also significantly increased in 2009. Hispano Carrocera's acquisition was followed by its complete administration. 1. Jaguar Land Rover: Headquartered in Whitley, United Kingdom, Jaguar Land Rover became Tata Motors’ wholly acquired subsidiary in 2008. They are experts in developing, producing, and marketing Land Rover premium 4-wheel drive models and Jaguar sports and luxury cars.
