Godrej Agrovet partners with Sime Darby Plantation Berhad

Godrej Agrovet said via an exchange filing on Thursday that it has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Sime Darby Plantation Berhad.

The focus of the deal is to combine Godrej Agrovet Limited's substantial market presence and knowledge of the Indian oil palm plantation (OPP) sector with SDP's cutting-edge research, development, and proprietary knowledge.

SDP will establish a cutting-edge seed production facility in India and supply top-notch oil palm seeds to Godrej Agrovet Limited's Oil Palm Business Unit(s). With an output of 1.887 million MT (as of December 31, 2022) of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO), SDP is the largest producer in the world.

By combining the strengths with SDP's expertise in seed supply and research, Godrej Agrovet Limited aim to revolutionize the Indian Oil Palm Plantation landscape, provide farmers with high-quality planting materials, and help meet the country's growing demand for edible oils.
