Sadhana Nitro Chem's Milestone
Sadhana Nitro Chem Ltd. (SNCL) has achieved a significant milestone by securing approval from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) for the production of Para Aminophenol (pAP). Moreover, SNCL is elated to announce the successful transition to continuous production at its pAP plant, distinguishing itself as the world's second facility to manufacture pAP from Nitrobenzene.
This innovative approach, utilizing Nitrobenzene instead of Para Nitro Chloro Benzene (PNCB), offers substantial benefits, aligning with green chemistry principles and generating zero effluent. Unlike the PNCB method, which results in chlorine-based contaminants, the Nitrobenzene process eliminates the use of chlorine-based ingredients, ensuring a product free from harmful impurities.
While initial regulatory constraints caused a slight delay, the plant commenced operations in June 2022, initially in batch mode. The transition to continuous production mode required meticulous adjustments and spanned six months. SNCL's rigorous efforts resulted in surpassing quality standards set by global competitors, including those in China.
Abhishek Javeri, MD of Sadhana Nitro Chem Ltd., expressed pride in the achievement, emphasizing the company's dedication to sustainable growth. He affirmed the company's commitment to becoming the world's leading pAP manufacturer within three years, reflecting on the significant investment and meticulous planning that led to this pivotal moment in SNCL's journey.
