Telemedicine was one of its early trailblazing projects in 2000 in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. Sutherland Global Services purchased 38% of the group's healthcare BPO segment in 2012 for INR 225 crore. HDFC also bought Apollo Munich Health Insurance for INR 1,495.81 crores in early 2020.
Over the years, the group has won multiple international awards for healthcare standards, biotech breakthroughs and innovative medical care.
