Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (formerly Zee Telefilms Limited) was founded on November 25, 1982, and is one of India's top media and entertainment firms. The corporation transmits television channels, offers advertising space on other channels, and sells media material such as TV series, movies, and music. 

The corporation began in 1992 with Zee TV, India's first private television station. Zee 2.0, released in 2000, was the company's first foray into new formats. They used Zee 3.0 to develop and restructure their firm in 2006. In 2020, the firm evolved into a leaner, sharper, and greener Zee, laying the path for the future with Zee 4.0. As of March 2022, Zee Entertainment Enterprises had 89 channels available in over 20 languages, serving 1.3 billion people in 130 countries.

Subhash Chandra is the founder of Zee Entertainment Enterprises and the Essel Group. He is known as 'the Father of Indian Television'.
