Introducing Build Strategy (Basket Mode) in Option Chain

Build Strategy in Option Chain lets traders select strikes, construct multi-leg option strategies, and execute them from a single Option Chain screen.

The Build Strategy feature transforms the Option Chain into an execution-ready strategy. Traders can now pick multiple legs, preview payoff and margin impact, edit each leg with precision, and execute the complete strategy without navigating away from the Option Chain.

About the Feature

This feature is available across Standard Option Chain and Advanced Option Chain.

Entry and Activation

• A Build Strategy toggle is placed in the Option Chain header.
• When ON, all strikes show Buy (B) and Sell (S) buttons for fast leg selection.
• When OFF, the chain reverts to its regular non-strategy view.
  
  Trader Value: Enables quick transition from analysis to strategy creation without changing screens.

Selecting Strikes & Adding Legs

• Every strike on the CE and PE sides now has selector controls for adding a leg.
• Clicking B / S instantly adds the selected contract as a strategy leg.
• Contracts can be deselected by clicking again.
  
  Auto-filled details include:
   
• Buy/Sell
• CE/PE
• Strike Price
• Expiry Date
• Underlying
  
  Trader Value: Reduces leg-selection time and prevents manual entry errors, especially in fast markets.

Strategy Tray – Docked Basket View

Once the first leg is added, a floating strategy tray appears at the bottom of the screen showing:

• Strategy/Basket Name
• Number of Legs
• Action Buttons: Add to Basket, See in Builder, Execute All
  
  Collapsed Tray
• Stays visible while scrolling.
• Shows high-level summary and actionable buttons.
  
  Expanded Tray
• Opens a full editable table with complete leg controls.
• Traders can rename the basket in line.
• Can collapse back into summary view anytime.
  
  Trader Value: Provides a persistent strategy panel for reviewing, editing, and executing multi-leg positions without losing place in the Option Chain.

Editing Legs: Strategy Builder Controls Inside the Module

Each leg can be modified the same way as in the Strategy Builder:

• Buy/Sell toggle
• CE/PE type toggle
• Lots input
• Price entry (Market / Limit)
• Order Type
• Delete leg
  
  Basket footer shows:
• Available Margin
• Required Margin (recomputed instantly)
• Net Premium
• Charges Breakdown (via “+Charges”)
  
  Trader Value: Allows precise control of every leg’s parameters and immediate understanding of margin implications before sending orders.

Execute All / Execute Selected

Traders can fire all legs simultaneously or only selected legs.

Leg-wise order status is displayed after execution.

Execution is blocked if:

• Margin is insufficient
• Mandatory fields are missing
• The market is closed
  
  Trader Value: Supports fast and coordinated execution of complex positions - essential for spreads, straddles, condors, adjustments, and hedging.

“See in Builder” – Advanced Strategy Insights

Clicking See in Builder moves the strategy to the full Strategy Builder page and shows:

• Payoff Graph
• Combined Greeks
• Max Profit / Max Loss
• Breakeven Points
  
  Trader Value: Gives deeper analytical clarity before committing capital, allowing fine-tuning of risk-reward dynamics.

Add to Basket (Basket Management)

Users can:

• Add selected legs to existing baskets, OR
• Create a new basket directly from the tray.
  
  The system:
• Shows all existing baskets
• Allows naming new baskets

Gives clear toast messages for:
Success
Duplicate strike
Duplicate basket name
Partial additions (when some scrips already exist)

Trader Value: Helps maintain organised strategy sets—useful for adjustments, reentries, hedges, and planned deployments.
