Incorporated in February, 1961, U P Hotels Limited is engaged in the business of owning and operating hotels. The Company has four hotels in its portfolio offering 643 rooms at Agra, Jaipur, Lucknow and Khajuraho under the brand name Clarks'. Due to some technical delay the construction Khajuraho project was proceeded only on 1995-96. The Company's new property at Khajuraho, Hotel Clarks Khajuraho commenced its operation w.e.f. August 25, 1998. The Company discover the rich heritage and culture of Uttar Pradesh, home to iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal and the ghats of Varanasi, offering unforgettable experiences for every traveler. Jaipur, popularly known as the Pink City' and an integral part of the Golden triangle itinerary, Jaipur's rich culture and its spectacular forts, palaces, and havelis has attracted the tourists from all over the world, making it one of the top leisure destinations in the country. Further, Jaipur has been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in July 2019. Jaipur is also a major MICE destination, primarily known for its destination weddings and large scale conventions. In Agra, room demand is usually driven by leisure travelers. In FY18, occupancy rates registered an expansion of over 600 bps to reach 65.8%, city's highest in over 20 years. However, on account of intense competition from the branded mid-market segment, the room rates remained under pressure and declined by about 3% to average at Rs 5,340 per night. This higher occupancy/demand translated into a growth of over 7% in RevPARs during the year.
