Nifty 200 Index

The NIFTY 200 is an index on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) that measures the performance of the Large Cap and Midcap segments of the equities market. It is a broad-based index of 200 stocks, including 100 from the NIFTY 100 and 100 from the NIFTY Full Midcap 100 index. The top five sectors are Financial Services, IT, Oil, Gas & Consumable Fuels, FMCG, and Automobile and Auto components.

The NIFTY 200 Momentum 30 Index, introduced to capture the momentum of the top 30 stocks from the NIFTY 200 universe, plays a significant role in reflecting the performance dynamics of the Indian financial markets. Launched on July 19, 2011, this index offers insights into the market momentum as it selects stocks based on their momentum indicators. With the NIFTY 200 representing a substantial portion of the NSE's float-adjusted market capitalisation, the NIFTY 200 Momentum 30 Index serves as a valuable tool for investors seeking exposure to high-performing stocks within this broader market segment. Governed by NSE Indices Limited, this index undergoes semi-annual reconstitution to ensure alignment with the evolving dynamics of the Indian economy and financial markets.
