The Bank had 4,758 domestic branches (including extension counters) and 10,990 ATMs. Over 1,500 Virtual Relationship Managers work at 6 Axis Virtual Centers. The bank gives 1% of its net profit to the foundation to support underprivileged kids every year. Axis Bank started as UTI in 1993 and started operating in 1994. Unit Trust of India, the country's best and largest bank, promoted Axis Bank. Axis Bank was also backed by United India Insurance Limited, Oriental Insurance Limited, New India Assurance Company Limited, and the Life Insurance Corporation of India. In 2007, the bank changed its name from UTI Bank to Axis Bank. Retail and corporate banking are the bank's strengths. To achieve excellence, Axis Bank adopts the best industry practices. There have been a lot of milestones for Axis Bank over the years. In 2011, it launched the first Indian currency prepaid travel card.Most of th e card's users are foreigners. In 2013, it was voted the most trusted private bank in India. The bank became the first in India to install 2 lakh EDC machines in 2012. After listing on the NSE and BSE in November 1998, the private bank also went public on the London Stock Exchange in 2014. Axis Bank's share price recently fell over 3% after its quarterly earnings report was released. Even though their net profit almost doubled (91%+) last year, analysts still like the stock. Axis Bank's net profit rose to Rs. 4,125 Crore in June 2022 from Rs. 2,160 Crore a year earlier. After these results, the BSE's stock price declined 3.6% and settled at Rs. 706.35.
