History of Pennar Industries Ltd

Pennar Industries was established in August 1975 by Shri J Naresh Kumar and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC) to strengthen India's manufacturing sector. In 1989-90, Pennar Industries Ltd expanded its production capacity from 12,000 tons per annum to 60,000 tons per annum, reaching 36,000 tons by 1990-91. This growth positively influenced the Pennar Industries shares, reflecting the company’s commitment to increasing production efficiency. In 1991-92, it formed a joint venture, Thomas & Betts Pennar, with the U.S.-based Thomas & Betts Corporation to produce electronic connectors. 

The company diversified in 1993-94 by setting up a 3-MW wind energy farm near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and began manufacturing value-added pressed and fine-blanked metal components, with production starting in 1994-95.
