Ms. Jane Murphy is a leading legal expert with extensive international experience in corporate law, M&A, and data privacy regulations. She founded her own law firm and two start-ups focused on data protection for companies in the EU and UK. Born and raised in Canada, she qualified as a lawyer there before moving to Belgium, where she also qualified as a Belgian lawyer. Her legal practice emphasizes data protection (GDPR), corporate law, and corporate governance. She is the founder and president of the European Data Protection Office (EDPO) and EDPO UK Ltd, and serves as an independent, non-executive board director on various committees for listed and non-listed companies in Belgium and France. Additionally, she teaches Corporate Governance at UCL University in Belgium and is a regular speaker on topics related to GDPR, corporate governance, and women entrepreneurship. Ms. Murphy holds multiple law degrees and certifications, including an LLM in International and European Law (Magna Cum Laude) and is recognized for her contributions to the field.
