About Amal Ltd
Amal Limited was initially incorporated in July, 1974 as 'Amal Rasayan Limited'.
In January, 1996, Amal Rasayan changed its name to Amal Products Limited and again to Amal Limited on November 25, 2003.
The Company manufactures bulk chemicals such as Sulphuric acid and Oleum and their downstream products such as Sulphur dioxide and Sulphur trioxide at its manufacturing site at Ankleshwar.
These chemicals find their use in several industries like Dyestuff, Fertiliser, Personal care, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Textile, etc.
The manufacturing plant of the Company at Ankleshwar has an installed capacity of 140 tons per day of Sulphuric acid.
The facility at Amal Speciality Chemicals Ltd (ASCL) has commenced operation having the capacity to manufacture 300 tons per day of Sulphuric acid.
Amal was promoted by Piramal Group in 1974-75; the controlling interest of the Company was sold to Atul Ltd in 1985-86.
About India Gelatine & Chemicals Ltd
India Gelatine & Chemicals Limited incorporated in April, 1973 was promoted by the Mirani family, Nichimen Corporation, and Konica Gelatine, both of Japan.
The Promoters primarily produced Ossein (the raw material for Gelatine) from crushed bones and exported it to Japan with technical collaboration from M/s.
Konica Gelatin Corporation of Japan.
Success of this venture, spurred the Company to expand its product line and in 1997, it began producing Gelatin from Ossein , which was compliant to the highest international standards.
IGCL's superior product line is fit for consumption in halal and international markets, which has paved a way for export to USA, the EU, Japan, Korea, Middle Eastern countries and Indonesia, amongst others.
