A diversified company some times earlier with active presence in Electrical products, Insecticides and Dye stuffs, the company divested its business interest in Electrical products and Insecticides and concentrates on manufacture of Synthetic Organic Dye Stuffs. Incorporated as a private limited company in 1964 in the name of Khatau Junker Limited, it became a deemed public limited company in 1979.

In 1979, the name of the Company was changed to Shaw Wallace Gelatines Limited, and in the year 2002, the Company was renamed as Narmada Gelatines Limited. The company manufactures Gelatine, Ossein, Di-Calcium Phosphate and Bone Meal.
It has manufacturing facility located at Jabalpur (M.P.).
Gelatine is basically a protein derivative of collagen, with a wide variety of end users.
