About JSW Cement Ltd

JSW Cement Limited was incorporated on March 29, 2006 vide Certificate of Incorporation, issued by Registrar of Companies, Mumbai.
The Company received a Certificate of Commencement of Business on May 12, 2006 by the RoC. JSW Cement Limited is a cement manufacturing company in India focused on manufacturing green cementitious products comprising blended cement which includes Portland Slag Cement (PSC) and Portland Composite Cement (PCC)) and Gound Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS).
The Company manufacture ordinary Portland cement (OPC), clinker and a range of allied cement products such as ready-mix concrete (RMC), screened slag, construction chemicals and waterproofing compounds. The Company commissioned manufacturing unit in Vijayanagar, Karnataka in 2009 and later in 2012, it commissioned another unit in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh.

About Saurashtra Cement Ltd

Promoted in 1956, Saurashtra Cement Limited (SCL), was set up to manufacture cement by the semi-dry process.
In 1960, the Mehta group, headed by Nanji Kalidas Mehta invested Rs 50 lac in SCL. The plant is located at Ranavav, Gujarat.
In 1980, the group was invited by the Government of Gujarat to invest in a joint venture, Cement Corporation of Gujarat, now called Gujarat Sidhee Cement (GSCL).
The Mehta group spans over seven countries with interests in sugar, engineering, cement, electrical cables, power, alcohol, etc.
SCL was the first BIFR case to be turned around without a rehabilitation package/assistance.
