Overview of methods to block HDFC debit card
MyCards
You can block your debit card via MyCards by following the below steps:
Step 1: Click on MyCards https://mycards.hdfcbank.com/
Step 2: Enter the registered mobile number and OTP
Step 3: Click on the Block Card Tab on the Debit Card homepage*
Step 4: Select the reason for hotlisting
Step 5: You will receive a confirmation that the card has been hotlisted successfully
Register your card by entering the last 4 digits of your Debit Card number and the Date of Birth (DOB)
EVA
You can block your debit card via EVA by following the below steps:
Step 1: Visit HDFC and click on the EVA chatbot on the right-hand side
Step 2: Select Debit Card services followed by Hotlist your Debit Card
Step 4: Enter your registered mobile number and the OTP
Step 5: Enter your Date of Birth (DOB) in DD/MM/YYYY format and click on proceed
Step 6: Enter the last 4 digits of your Debit Card and proceed
Step 7: Select the reason for hotlisting and confirm for blocking
WhatsApp
You can block your debit card via EVA by following the below steps:
Step 1: Send ‘Hi’ to 70700 22222 on your WhatsApp
Step 2: Enter 4-digit customer ID and OTP to complete your registration.
Step 3: Type your query related to Debit Card or Select from the options (Under Other Services, select Debit Card services)
Step 4: Select Block my Debit Card and share the reason for blocking
Step 5: Check and click on proceed, once the last 4 digits of your Debit Card are displayed.
Once done, you will receive a confirmation that the card has been de-activated
Mobile Banking
You can block your debit card via mobile banking by following the below steps:
Step 1: Log in to Mobile Banking via the HDFC Bank app
Step 2: Click on Menu on the left-hand side corner
Step 3: Click on Pay>Cards.
Step 4: Click on the Debit Card number you wish to hotlist
Step 5: Select the reason for hotlisting and block the card
You will receive a confirmation that your Debit Card has been hotlisted successfully
NetBanking
You can block your debit card via net banking by following the below steps:
Step 1: Log in to NetBanking
Step 2: Click on Card Section and select Debit Card on the left-hand side.
Step 3: Click on Requests>Debit Card Hotlisting.
Step 4: Select the Debit Card for Hotlisting (select reason and mention remarks)
You will receive a confirmation that the card has been hotlisted successfully
SMS
You can block your debit card via SMS by following the below step:
You can send an SMS “Block DC <Last 4 digit of your Debit Card number>” on 7308080808 from a registered mobile number with HDFC Bank.
Eg “Block DC 2341” on 7308080808
Phone Banking
You can block your debit card via the HDFC debit card block toll free number by following the below steps:
Step 1: Call 1800 1600 / 1800 2600 and follow the instructions. / Call on +9122 61606160 if you are traveling abroad.
