The account holder can conveniently block their SBI ATM card online using the Online SBI services by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Visit www.onlinesbi.com

Step 2: Log in to the SBI Net Banking portal using your username and password.

Step 3: Navigate to the 'e-Services' tab and select the 'ATM Card Services' option.

Step 4: Click on the 'Block ATM Card' option.

Step 5: Select the account linked to the ATM/Debit card that you wish to block.

Step 6: You will be presented with a list of active and blocked cards, showing the first and last four digits of each card.

Step 7: Choose the card you wish to block, indicate whether it is ‘Lost’ or ‘Stolen,’ and click on “Submit.” Verify the details and confirm.

Step 8: Select an authentication method—either an OTP (One-Time Password) or your Profile Password.

Step 9: Enter the OTP or Profile Password and click on 'Confirm.'

Once the card is successfully blocked, the account holder will receive a ticket number via SMS for future reference. It is important to retain this ticket number for any inquiries related to the blocked card.

The account holder can also view the status of blocked or inactive ATM cards through the SBI Net Banking portal by signing in.

Note: After blocking the SBI ATM card via Net Banking, the card cannot be unblocked through the online portal.


Block SBI Debit Card Through Mobile Banking

SBI account holders can block their SBI ATM cards easily by following these steps:

  • Open the ‘SBI Mobile Banking’ app on your Android or iPhone.
  • On the home screen, tap on the ‘Services’ option.
  • Under ‘Services’, select ‘Debit Card Hotlisting’ to block your SBI ATM card.
  • Choose the bank account linked to the ATM card you want to block.
  • Select the debit card you wish to block.
  • Choose the reason for blocking the card, either ‘Lost’ or ‘Stolen’.
  • Enter the OTP to confirm and block your ATM card.

To prevent any fraud, you can also turn off your card's domestic and international usage. This way, your card won’t be used without your permission. If you want to use the card later, you can simply turn the usage options back on.


How to Block SBI ATM Cards By Toll-Free Number?

Account holders can also contact customer care to register a complaint and block their SBI ATM card. If the ATM card is lost or missing, the account holder should immediately call the SBI ATM card block helplines at 1800-425-3800 or 1800-112-211. These toll-free numbers provide an IVRS service, which will guide the account holder through the steps to block the card. By following the instructions, the card will be blocked immediately. 


Block SBI Debit ATM Card Through SMS

To block your State Bank of India (SBI) debit or ATM card, please follow the steps below:

Compose a message in the following format:

Block <space> the last 4 digits of your card number

Example: Block 1234

Send this message to 567676 from your registered mobile number.

This will initiate the process of blocking your card.
