Follow the below steps to apply for an Aadhaar card:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI and find the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center.
- Step 2: Fill out the enrolment form.
- Step 3: Provide all the documents.
- Step 4: Submit your biometric data along with your fingerprint and iris scan.
- Step 5: Collect the 14-digit enrolment number to check your Aadhaar card status.
Your Aadhaar card will be delivered within 90 days to your registered address.

What are the documents required to apply for an Aadhaar card?
Once you provide your biometric data, you must submit the required list of documents, such as:
- Proof of Date of Birth
- Proof of Relationship
- Proof of Address
- Proof of Identity
How to Check Aadhaar Card Enrolment Status?
You can check your Aadhaar card enrolment status through the following methods:
- Through a 14-digit enrolment number.
- By visiting on UIDAI website.
How to Check Aadhaar Status?
You will need an enrolment ID or EID to check your Aadhaar status. You will find your EID on the acknowledgment slip. EID is a 28-digit number comprising two parts:
- 14-digit enrolment number in the format 012/01234/012345 and
- 14-digit date and time of enrolment in the format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss
You will need a 14-digit enrollment number to check your Aadhaar status. You can directly visit the official website of UIDAI.
In case you lose or forget your EID, you can retrieve it by visiting the Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID webpage on the UIDAI website.
How to Download Aadhaar Card?
Follow the steps below to download your e-Aadhaar card:
- Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website.
- Step 2: Enter all required information.
- Step 2: Click the option, 'Get One Time Password(OTP).
- Step 3: Enter the one-time password or OTP.
- Step 4: Enter the first four letters of your name in capitals along with your birth year (in YYYY format) as the password to open the e-Aadhaar PDF file.
Aadhaar Reprint
In case you lose or misplace your Aadhaar card, you can reprint the Aadhaar card by following the below steps:
- Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website.
- Step 2: Go to the order aadhaar reprint webpage.
- Step 3: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number or 16-digit VID.
- Step 3: Enter the security code displayed in the box.
- Step 4: Enter the registered mobile number and click on proceed.
- Step 5: Click on ‘Send OTP’.
- Step 6: Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number.
- Step 7: Click on ‘Submit’
- Step 8: You will get a preview of your Aadhaar details (if you have entered your registered mobile number)
- Step 9: Click on ‘Make Payment’ & ‘Pay Now’.
You can download the Aadhaar card in PDF format. Also, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) via SMS.
Please note: You have to pay Rs. 50 (including GST and postal charges) per request.
