History of DCM Shriram

DCM Shriram Limited was established in 1990 after the DCM Group was divided into three separate entities. The company went public in 1991. In 1995, they commissioned Shriram Alkali & Chemicals at Bharuch, Gujarat, followed by their first sugar manufacturing unit in Ajbapur in 1997. This company entered into UPVC door and windows business in the year, 2003.

New sugar units were established at Hariawan and Loni in 2006, and a 55 MW coal-based power plant was set up in 2008. A distillery at Hariawan started in 2017, and significant expansions occurred in 2018 and 2019, including chlor-alkali and power plants. By 2023, the company had 11 manufacturing plants in India and one in the Philippines.
