Alchemist Limited is an India-based company. The Company is engaged in the steel, floriculture, pharma, hospitality, real estate, information technology, food processing, healthcare and international business. Alchemist Steel manufactures welded wire mesh in 100 grades. Alchemist Multi Specialty Hospital is a 150-bed hospital, which includes 75 monitored beds, digital cardiac cath lab, as well as operation theatres. The food-processing segment of the Company comprises chicken products and table egg products. The Company entered in the healthcare segment with the acquisition of Panchkula's Kaiser Hospital. The international business segment comprises agricultural products, chemical or engineering products, minerals and metals, machinery and equipments, woods, plastics, leather or textile products, art and handicrafts. The company was incorporated in the year 1981 and is based in New Delhi, India with the name Toubro Industries Ltd. The name of the company was changed from Toubro Industries Ltd to Toubro Infotech & Industries Ltd in the year 2000. The name of the company was further changed to Alchemist Limited with effect from December 29, 2004. During the year 1994-1995, the company developed a solar energy device for the Floriculture Unit. During the year 1996-1997, the company developed about 10000 saplings. During the year 1999-2000, the company set up the chicken processing plant with the capacity of 4000 birds pre hour and commenced operation. During the year 2003-2004, the company took opportunities to stake that the ultra- modern food processing plant at village Ban Majra (Punjab) and commissioned fully automated table eggs project. During the year 2004-2005, the company took measures through expansion and diversification to enhance its area of operation. During the year 2006-2007, the company acquired 100% shareholding in Alchemist Hospitals Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. During the year 2007-2008, the company food processing division opened stores under the brand name 'Republic of Chicken' in Delhi. During the year 2008-2009, the company is setting up a chain of restaurants called 'Republic of Chicken' across the country. The company opened 100 exclusively owned outlets in the first phase. In February 2009, the company acquired 100% of Alchemist Foods Ltd, and thus Alchemist Foods Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary company.
