Georgia chooses TCS to revolutionize State Unemployment Insurance System

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) to transform the state's outdated unemployment insurance system. The move aims to enhance user experience, combat fraud, and provide a modern, cloud-based platform.

Georgia faced a significant surge in unemployment claims during the pandemic, highlighting the limitations of its 40-year-old system, which ranked among the nation's oldest. To address this issue, GDOL partnered with TCS to create an agile, modern platform that eliminates technology debt and improves accessibility.

The new web-based platform will simplify the unemployment insurance application process, enabling users to securely upload documents, track claim status, and receive updates easily.

Digitized processes with automated workflows will expedite claim processing while reducing errors. Advanced security measures embedded in the platform will combat fraud, save taxpayer funds, and ensure timely benefits for eligible individuals.

Bruce Thompson, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor, emphasized that modernizing the state's unemployment system represents a fusion of efficiency and innovation. A modern system reduces claims processing times, enhances the user experience, prevents fraud, and positions GDOL as a transparent and responsive state agency.

Robert Kane, Chief Commercial Officer, U.S. Public Services at TCS, highlighted the company's expertise in leveraging technology to improve accessibility, scalability, and transparency in unemployment insurance systems across various states. TCS is proud to partner with GDOL on its digital transformation journey to create a seamless, secure, and user-friendly unemployment system that meets the evolving needs of claimants and employers.
