Titagarh Rail Systems secures ₹350cr contract for Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II
Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (formerly Titagarh Wagons Limited) has announced a significant contract win. The company has inked a deal worth ₹350cr with Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) for the design, manufacture, supply, testing, commissioning, and training of 30 standard gauge cars.
This development is a part of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II Project, which aims to enhance connectivity in the state and boost business growth and user convenience.
According to the terms of the contract, Titagarh Rail is committed to delivering a prototype within 70 weeks from the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) issued on 29th August 2023. The entire order, consisting of 30 standard gauge cars, will be completed and delivered in 94 weeks from the LOA. These state-of-the-art metro cars will be manufactured at Titagarh's cutting-edge facility located in Uttarpara, West Bengal.
GMRC's Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II Project, valued at ₹13,500cr, is a significant infrastructure development. It will add 28.2 kilometers of Metro lines to Ahmedabad's existing network, enhancing public transportation and connectivity in the region. This project aligns with Ahmedabad's vision of expanding connectivity within the state and promoting overall progress and development.
