India and France hold talks to boost Defence Cooperation
Senior officials from India and France engaged in a two-day military dialogue aimed at strengthening their overall defence ties. The 21st edition of the India-France Military Sub Committee (MSC) meeting took place on October 16 and 17 at the Air Force station in the national capital. This forum, established to enhance defence cooperation, conducts regular discussions at both strategic and operational levels.
The defence ministry noted that the meeting transpired in a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, with discussions centering on new initiatives within the framework of the existing bilateral defence cooperation mechanism, and the reinforcement of ongoing defence engagements.
In recent years, defence and strategic ties between India and France have been on an upward trajectory. Notably, in July, the two countries announced several groundbreaking defence cooperation projects. These initiatives included the joint development of jet and helicopter engines, as well as the construction of three Scorpene submarines for the Indian Navy. Both nations also expressed their commitment to collaborating on advanced defence technology development and production, with the aim of benefiting other countries as well.
