Prime Minister Modi Unveils Cutting-Edge Convention Center "Yashobhoomi" in Delhi's Dwarka
In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state-of-the-art convention center "Yashobhoomi" located in Dwarka, southwest Delhi. During the inauguration, he extended an invitation to the global film and television industry, as well as international event management companies, to utilize the facilities at Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi.
Built at an impressive cost of Rs 5,400 crore, Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre Yashobhoomi encompasses a sprawling built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters. This positions it as one of the world's largest MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) facilities. Notable features include a magnificent convention center and multiple exhibition halls.
During his address, Prime Minister Modi underscored the enormous potential of conference tourism in India, which is estimated to be worth over Rs 25,000 crores. He emphasized the necessity of essential resources for successful events, meetings, and exhibitions, affirming that Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi are poised to transform Delhi into a premier hub for conference tourism, potentially generating employment opportunities for lakhs of youth.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi introduced the PM Vishwakarma scheme, aimed at supporting artisans and craftsmen. This initiative encompasses 18 focus areas, with a substantial allocation of Rs 13,000 crore. He assured collateral-free financing, affirming, "When a guarantee is asked for, I will be your guarantee."
Furthermore, Modi urged citizens to actively support local products, particularly during upcoming festivities like Ganesh Chaturthi, Dhanteras, and Deepawali. He emphasized that the recent unveiling of Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, the site of the G-20 summit, along with Yashobhoomi, will serve as beacons of India's hospitality, superiority, and grandeur on the global stage.
Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and various other key ministers. It's worth noting that Yashobhoomi has been seamlessly integrated with the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, further enhancing its accessibility and connectivity.
