Vodafone Idea Q1 Results: Net loss increased 7% to Rs 7,840 crore

The net loss for Vodafone Idea Limited increased 7% to Rs 7,840 crore in the April-June quarter.

The telecom major announced a net loss of Rs 7,297 crore during the corresponding time last year, the company said in an exchange filing.

When compared to the same period last year, the revenue from operations increased by a marginal 2% to Rs 10,655 crore in the first quarter.

In the reporting quarter, the company reported EBITDA of Rs. 4,157 crore with 39% margins. EBIT loss of Rs. 1,459 crore for the quarter.

"The company has received a communication from a promoter group entity confirming that in the event of any fund requirement for meeting its impending payment obligations by the company, it shall provide direct or indirect financial support to the extent of Rs 2,000 crore," Vodafone Idea said in the filing.
