ACC commences commercial production of clinker at its new Ametha Cement Plant in Madhya Pradesh

The Ametha cement factory in Madhya Pradesh has started producing clinker commercially, according to cement manufacturer ACC on Thursday. The company stated in its filing to the stock exchange that the facility has a clinker capacity of 3.3 MTPA and a cement capacity of 1 MTPA.

This greenfield integrated project will help to produce cement and clinker at the lowest possible cost, increasing the company's capacity to 37 MTPA and contributing to an overall increase in profitability and market share.

The strategic position of the cement factory provides a logistical benefit, enhancing the company's ability to serve important markets effectively.

"This milestone harmoniously aligns with our growth strategy for the cement business, enabling us to meet evolving market demands while upholding our unwavering standards of quality," Ajay Kapur, CEO of ACC Ltd, said.

The plant, which complies with ESG standards, has a 16.3 MW waste heater recovery (WHRS) capacity and can use up to 15% alternative fuel and raw material (AFR). This will demonstrate ACC's commitment to environmental responsibility.

With 17 cement production facilities, over 88 concrete plants, and a national network of channel partners, ACC, one of the leading producers of cement and ready-mix concrete in the nation, can serve its customers.
