Adani Wind received certification for its 5.2 MW wind turbine, which is the largest in India
The largest wind turbine generator in India received certification, according to Adani Wind, the wind energy solutions division of Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL). WindGuard GmbH has granted type certification to the 5.2 MW turbine generator, according to a press release from the company.
The WTG prototype installed in Gujarat's Mundra was tested by WindGuard. The certification provides this turbine recognition on a worldwide scale and allows Adani Wind to begin series production for foreign markets.
"The certification under IEC System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Renewable Energy Applications (IECRE) affirms that the Adani Wind’s 5.2 MW WTG meets the highest quality and safety standards," Adani Wind said.
“The certification is a boost to our endeavour of making India the global manufacturing hub for renewable equipment. We are focused on building a portfolio of high-yield next-generation wind turbines made in India and are well-poised to cater to the global wind energy demand," Vneet Jaain, director, of Adani New Industrie, said.
The wind turbine, which was created by collaborating with the German company W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, has a tip height of 200 meters, a rotor diameter of 160 meters, and a swept area of 20,106 square meters. One of the largest on-shore machinery in the world is the wind turbine.
