BEML bags defence order worth Rs 101 crore

In a statement on August 22, BEML stated that it has received an order from the Ministry of Defence (Army) for the supply of command post vehicles with a contract value of about Rs 101 crore. It secured a rolling stock order for Rs 3,177 crore from Bangalore Rail Corporation Limited as of August 7.

 

For the provision of 318 coaches for the Phase 2, Phase 2A, and Phase 2B corridors of the Bengaluru Metro, BEML was found to be the lowest bidder in May 2023. The company's net loss for the three months ended in June 2023 decreased from Rs 82.36 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year to Rs 75.01 crore.

 

BEML is a public sector undertaking for the manufacture of rail coaches and spare parts and mining equipment.

 

The organisation is a multi-technology firm that provides high-quality products for a variety of economic sectors, including coal, mining, steel, limestone, power, irrigation, construction, road building, aviation, defence, metro, and railways.
