Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) receives an order worth Rs 4,000 crore from Adani Power
For a power project in Madhya Pradesh, Mahan Energen Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power, has placed an order with the state-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for Rs 4,000 crore.
According to the order, BHEL will supply boilers, turbines, and generators, and supervise the erection and commissioning of a 2x800 MW power project for Mahan Energen Ltd in Bandhaura, Madhya Pradesh.
According to BHEL's filing with the stock exchanges, the order would be carried out in 31 to 35 months. The state-run business BHEL announced that its units in Trichy and Haridwar will produce turbine generators.
As a result of its varied business strategy, the company recorded a surge in new orders received in 2022–23 of over 17% to Rs 23,548 crore over the previous year. In 2021–2022, BHEL secured a new contracts for Rs 20,078 crore.
With the completion of the order for Vande Bharat trains in April 2023, the latest outstanding order book has also exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore.
