Birlasoft appoints Selvakumaran Mannappan as COO

Birlasoft Ltd, a prominent software company under the C.K. Birla Group, has appointed Selvakumaran Mannappan as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective from October 18, 2023. The company, with a revenue of $2.9 billion, expressed confidence in Mannappan's ability to deliver substantial value to its customers through his role.

In a statement, Birlasoft highlighted Selva's pivotal role in advancing the company's delivery excellence strategy, leveraging cutting-edge technologies for exceptional customer value.

Angan Guha, the CEO and Managing Director of Birlasoft, extended a warm welcome to the new COO and emphasized the significance of his arrival, particularly during this pivotal phase of the company's growth.

Guha stated, "I am confident that with Selva onboard, Birlasoft’s aspiration to be bold, agile, and ambitious would get strengthened further.”

With close to three decades of experience in the IT industry, Selvakumaran Mannappan has previously served as the Delivery Head of BFSI‐Americas (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) at Cognizant Technology Solutions, showcasing extensive expertise in the sector.

Birlasoft is also strategically positioning itself in the realm of artificial intelligence, having recently established a Generative AI Centre of Excellence in collaboration with Microsoft. Additionally, the company plans to introduce a Generative AI Studio in partnership with hyperscale collaborators for the benefit of both customers and employees.
