HFCL bags Rs 283-crore order from Gujarat Metro

On Wednesday, the manufacturer of telecom equipment HFCL announced that Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation had awarded them a contract for Rs 282.61 crore to install communication systems for Surat Metro Rail Project Phase-1. The project must be deployed by the company 90 weeks after the contract's signing. 
The business announced in a regulatory filing that Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd has awarded them a contract of Rs 282.61 crore for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of communications equipment for Surat Metro Rail Project Phase-I.

According to the agreement, HFCL must offer 110 weeks of warranty support for the technology it will deploy.

HFCL is presently developing telecom networks for seven greenfield dedicated freight corridor projects for Indian Railways after recently winning a contract for the integration of communication networks in the Kanpur-Agra metro rail project.

In addition, HFCL is installing video management systems at over 600 train stations and integrating communication networks for mainline and metro railways. 
It is also a member of a group of domestic companies charged with running an Indian Railways 5G trial between the Palwal and Mathura section.
