Infosys launches a cloud-based solution for airlines to address the issue of missing bags

The launch of Infosys Cobalt Airline Cloud (ICAC), a first-of-its-kind industrial cloud product designed for commercial airlines to aid them in accelerating their digital transformation journey, was announced by IT services company Infosys Ltd on Wednesday, September 27.

To create ICAC, which aims to provide clients with customized experiences, optimized operations, and net-zero trips, the company has drawn on its extensive domain knowledge and expertise in the travel and hospitality industry, according to a regulatory filing from Infosys.

The ICAC platform is based on the ideas of composable architecture, which are derived from Infosys Cobalt's overall framework, a collection of services, solutions, and platforms designed to help enterprises accelerate their cloud journey.

By dismantling historical workloads and building functional capabilities with the use of cloud technologies, ICAC offers solutions, APIs, and reused business assets.

By assuring accurate baggage delivery, utilizing precision-based gate-to-gate bag transfers, and assisting in a reduction of the missing bag rate (MBR) in hub airports by up to 50%, the platform will enhance the customer experience.

Ashiss Kumar Dash, EVP and Global Head of Services, Utilities, Resources, And Energy, Infosys, said, "The launch of Infosys Cobalt Airline Cloud is a significant milestone in our journey of digital innovation. This pioneering industry cloud solution demonstrates our commitment to empowering the airline industry with a scalable and flexible IT ecosystem that caters to the unique challenges faced by the industry."

Fernando Rocha, CIO of Aeroméxico Airline, said, "We believe that this platform will enable us to quickly adapt to changing market dynamics, enhance customer experiences, and drive profitable growth.”
