L&T Construction secures major contracts
L&T Construction's Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business division has been awarded significant contracts in the sector. One notable contract is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction project from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. This initiative entails the construction of a Water Supply Project servicing 648 villages in the Chittorgarh District, drawing water from the Chambal River as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission (Package-I).
The extensive project encompasses Intake Structures, three Water Treatment Plants with a combined capacity of 175 MLD, 1800 Km of Transmission and Distribution pipelines, 13 Clear water reservoirs with a total capacity of 21600 KL, 13 Pump Houses, 31 Overhead Service Reservoirs with a total capacity of 4850 KL, and 22,000 Functional Household Tap Connections. Additionally, it encompasses associated Electromechanical & Instrumentation Works, as well as automation and SCADA work, including a 10-year Operation & Maintenance component.
Another notable contract secured by the WET business is from the Guwahati Water Supply and Sewerage Board in Assam. This involves the Construction & Commissioning of remaining works for the South Guwahati West Water Supply Project, boasting a capacity of 107 MLD. The project scope encompasses 84 Km of DI pipeline, 3 Km of MS Pipeline, 4 pre-settling tanks, in addition to associated electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation works for the existing WTP. This endeavor aims to meet the water requirements of the western sector of South Guwahati city.
