New Leadership at worldsteel

Leon Topalian, President & CEO of Nucor Corporation, has been elected Chairman of worldsteel, while India's T V Narendran, MD & CEO of Tata Steel, is named one of the Vice-Chairmen. Jeong-Woo Choi, CEO of POSCO Holdings, was also chosen as Vice Chairman. Narendran, along with JSW Steel CMD Sajjan Jindal and ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman L N Mittal, has been appointed to the Executive Committee. Mark Vassella of BlueScope Steel Ltd is elected Treasurer, and Timoteo Di Maulo, CEO of Aperam, is named Chairman of worldstainless. 

The 17-member Executive Committee includes industry leaders from companies like United States Steel Corporation and Hadeed, Saudi Iron & Steel Company. Additionally, representatives from Nippon Steel Corporation, China Baowu Steel Group Corporation, Gerdau SA, and JFE Steel Corporation have been appointed to the committee. Edwin Basson, Director General of World Steel Association, will serve as Secretary. worldsteel, representing 85% of global steel production, addresses key industry issues, emphasizing economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
