NTPC records significant increase in Coal Production

NTPC, India's largest power producer under the Ministry of Power, reported a remarkable surge in coal production from its captive mines during the period of April to October in the current fiscal year. The company achieved a production of 19.117 million tonnes (MT) of coal, demonstrating an impressive year-on-year increase of 86 percent. This accomplishment is a substantial improvement compared to the 10.282 MT produced in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.


Furthermore, NTPC also excelled in coal dispatch, registering 20.225 MT by the end of October 31 in FY24, marking a noteworthy 94 percent surge from the previous year's supplies.


The company emphasized that this outstanding performance is a testament to NTPC's unwavering dedication to augment coal production from its captive mines, ensuring a seamless and efficient supply to meet the nation's energy demands. NTPC's notable progress in coal production and dispatch plays a crucial role in bolstering India's energy infrastructure and supporting its energy requirements.
