Nvidia Partners with Reliance and Tata for AI Innovation

Nvidia, a global leader in AI hardware and software, is forging transformative partnerships in India. During his week-long visit to the country, Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

Nvidia will collaborate with Reliance Industries to develop a foundational large language model (LLM), a critical AI algorithm, trained on multiple Indo-European languages, serving India's vast population of 1.4 billion people. Reliance will eventually own this LLM, enabling the creation of AI models, services, and applications for their 450 million customers.

Huang emphasized that Reliance's extensive customer base and data resources position them as an AI powerhouse, with Nvidia's support for AI solutions utilizing this valuable data.

In parallel, Nvidia is partnering with the Tata Group, specifically Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, and Tata Communications, to build AI infrastructure that surpasses India's current fastest supercomputer.

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, highlighted the profound impact of AI on industries and daily life, emphasizing the democratization of AI infrastructure and talent upgradation at scale.

Nvidia will provide access to advanced technology, including the Nvidia GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and Nvidia DGX Cloud, an AI supercomputing service. This collaboration aligns with Nvidia's aim to leverage India's vast data resources to create exportable AI products.

In the future, Nvidia plans to explore partnerships with software giants Infosys and Wipro, capitalizing on India's burgeoning AI landscape and its trillion-dollar AI-driven valuation.

These partnerships exemplify India's strategic thrust into AI innovation, forging a path toward transformative growth and technological advancement.
