Reliance Industries partners with Brookfield Infrastructure and Digital Realty to develop data centres
Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) announced a collaboration with Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure to invest in special purpose vehicles for the construction of data centres in India. Reliance will be an equal partner in the business, holding a 33.33 percent share in each of the SPVs, according to the joint statement.
According to the statement, Digital Realty Trust is the top provider of cloud and carrier-neutral data centres, colocation, and connectivity solutions on a global scale. The company has joined forces with Brookfield Infrastructure to create a joint venture. The company has a massive network of over 300 data centres spread across 27 nations. This collaboration aims to develop top-tier, well-connected, and flexible data centres in India, catering to the essential infrastructure requirements of enterprises and digital services firms.
According to the joint announcement, RIL will join the JV as an equal partner, and the partnership will be known as "Digital Connexion: A Brookfield, Jio, and Digital Realty Company."
The joint venture between Digital Realty Trust and Brookfield Infrastructure is currently constructing data centres in Chennai and Mumbai, according to the announcement. The first project MAA10 is a 100 MW campus-based 20 MW greenfield data centre in Chennai that is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2023. Additionally, the JV recently acquired 2.15 acres of land in Mumbai so that it could construct a 40 MW data facility.
