Sterlite Technologies and Windstream strengthen their partnership to deliver rapid fibre access in the US

To support their extensive fibre expansion initiatives Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), a leading provider of optical and digital solutions, on Tuesday has announced its alliance with Windstream. 

Multiple fibre construction projects are being undertaken by Windstream Wholesale, an optical technology provider offering quick and adaptable advanced solutions. Additionally, Windstream is offering the best internet experience to more and more homes, companies, and carrier partners across America through its Kinetic division. 

$2 billion will be invested by Kinetic by Windstream to significantly increase gigabit internet access across its 18-state service area. 

The partnership officially began in February 2021 when Windstream first received optical networking solutions from STL. On top of this foundation, STL has increased the range of products it offers by including flat ribbon and high-fiber-count intelligently-bonded ribbon in addition to its loose tube optical cables, the company said in the filing. 

These solutions are built to meet Windstream Wholesale’s requirements for metro and long-haul optical networks, which currently offer customers up to 400G wave services and will support 800G transmission in the future. These solutions also ensure faster rollout, superior network longevity, and high scalability.
