Suzlon Secures 551 MW Order from Aditya Birla Group

Suzlon Group on Wednesday won a new, 551.25 MW order for its 3 MW Wind Turbine series from the Aditya Birla Group. The order is to be executed across two sites – the first part 368.55 MW will be developed by Suzlon in Rajasthan's Barmer district, while the remaining 182.7 MW will be developed in Gujarat's Bhuj district.

Aditya Birla Group, a global Indian conglomerate will use the power generated from these projects for captive usage.

"This order will enable us to further strengthen our presence in Rajasthan and Gujarat while helping the states unlock their true wind energy potential," JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group said.

The project is expected to provide electricity to nearly 4.54 lakh households and curb 17.92 lakh tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions per year.

The wind turbine generators along with a hybrid lattice tubular tower will have a rated capacity of 3.15 MW at each site.

Suzlon Group, India's largest renewable energy solutions provider will supply the wind turbines, and execute the project, including erection and commissioning in Rajasthan, while they will supply, supervise and commission the project in Gujarat.
