Tata Power Renewable Energy partners with Xpro India for 3.125 MW solar plant - 14 Sept 2023
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Xpro India Limited to develop a 3.125 MW AC Group Captive Solar Plant in Achegaon, Maharashtra.
The plant is set to annually produce 7.128 million units of electricity, supporting Xpro India's Polymer Processing Business. The partnership is expected to generate 161 million units of electricity over 25 years, significantly reducing carbon emissions by approximately 51,660 tons. By sourcing clean energy through this agreement, Xpro India is advancing its sustainability goals and contributing to environmental protection.
Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, expressed their commitment to promoting renewable power adoption, especially in energy-intensive industries. The collaboration with Xpro India Limited represents a positive step towards the nation's clean energy transition.
Captive solar projects like this offer a stable tariff unaffected by short-term regulatory changes. This initiative aligns with TPREL's recent agreements for captive solar plants, strengthening their position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector.
With this addition, TPREL's total renewable utility capacity reaches 7,836 MW, including projects under various stages of implementation. Their operational capacity stands at 4,146 MW, comprising 3,153 MW of solar and 993 MW of wind energy. This move underscores TPREL's dedication to expanding clean energy solutions across India.
