WABAG secures EUR 63 Million water treatment project in Tunisia
Leading water technology firm VA TECH WABAG (VVABAG') has secured a significant consortium order valued at approximately EUR 63 million for the Bejaoua Drinking Water Treatment Plant in Tunisia. The project, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and European Investment Bank (BEI), will be executed over 30 months, followed by a 12-month Operation & Maintenance phase. WABAG's scope includes Engineering & Procurement (EP') and Operation & Maintenance (`O&M'), covering the supply of electromechanical equipment, installation, and commissioning.
This substantial project reinforces WABAG's longstanding partnership with Societe Nationale D'exploitation Et De Distribution Des Eaux (SONEDE) and solidifies its position in the North African market. WABAG will lead the consortium, collaborating with Entreprise Gloulou Mohamed et Salem (EGMS) for the civil works.
Guhan Kandasamy, Head of Marketing - Africa, expressed gratitude to SONEDE for their continued trust and highlighted the project's significance in enhancing water security in Tunisia's capital. The Bejaoua Drinking Water Treatment Plant marks a milestone in WABAG's water treatment portfolio, demonstrating the company's commitment to safeguarding water resources in the African continent.
