Rupee opens marginally lower at 82.05 against US dollar
Indian markets opened slightly lower against the US dollar tracking weakness in Asian equities and other currency markets. The local unit started trading on Friday at 82.06 against the dollar, down 0.12 percent from its previous closing rate of 81.95. The currency's opening rate was 82.05/$
In the opening session, India's benchmark Sensex declined by 0.23 percent and was trading at 63095 points.
On the international front, the Bank of England and the Norwegian central bank have taken decisive actions by implementing a half-point increase in interest rates, signaling a tightening of their monetary policies.
Additionally, US Fed Chair Jerome Powell has hinted at the possibility of further rate hikes.
