NLC India secures power supply contract for Rajasthan
The state-owned enterprise, NLC India Ltd (NLCIL), has successfully won a bid to supply 810 MW of power to Rajasthan at a competitive rate of Rs 2.64 per unit. This announcement was made by NLCIL, a prominent navratna company operating under the coal ministry, in a filing to BSE. The Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) issued a letter of intent for the contract.
The tender pertained to the procurement of power from 810 MW Grid Connected Solar photovoltaic power projects within the 2,000 MW Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Presently, NLC India boasts an installed renewable energy capacity of 1,431.06 MW, with an additional 2,110 MW in renewable energy projects in the pipeline. The company’s corporate plan for 2030 outlines an ambitious goal of developing a renewable energy capacity of 6,031 MW. This initiative is projected to offset carbon emissions by an estimated 46,628.56 tonnes, accounting for a lifetime electricity generation of approximately 48,170.00 million units. NLC's primary focus areas encompass mining and power generation.
