Tata Motors secures 12-Year contract for Jammu and Srinagar Smart City Projects

Tata Motors is set to deploy and manage a fleet of 200 electric buses in Srinagar and Jammu over the course of 12 years as part of the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City initiatives. The initial batch of Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses has already been delivered to Srinagar Smart City Ltd. This venture, facilitated through Tata Motors' subsidiary TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, underlines the company's commitment to advancing sustainable and efficient public transportation in the region.


As Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Chairman of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, noted, this move signifies a significant step toward safer, smarter, and more environmentally-friendly mobility solutions. Tata Motors has a solid track record in deploying electric buses across various Indian cities, with a collective mileage of over 9.6 crore kilometers and an impressive uptime rate exceeding 95 percent.
