Bank Nifty is a stock market index that measures the performance of India's banking industry. It was established by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in 2003 to allow for free movement of capital market performance in one of India's important service industries, banking.

NIFTY Bank typically includes 12 major banking companies from various segments of the banking industry.
