OneWeb set to connect entire Country with Satellite Service

Bharti Airtel Chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal, announced at the India Mobile Congress 2023 that OneWeb's satellite communication service is poised to connect all parts of the country starting next month. Highlighting the extensive coverage of 5G services, Mittal noted that Airtel has reached 5,000 towns, 20,000 villages, and the entirety of the country.

With the support of the Universal Services Obligation Fund, Airtel has been actively bridging the connectivity gap in rural and remote areas. Now, with OneWeb's satellite technology, even the most challenging regions can be seamlessly connected. Following its merger with Eutelsat, OneWeb will commercially operate as Eutelsat OneWeb, headquartered in London. Bharti Enterprises holds the largest stake in the merged entity, with a 21.2% share. Having completed its constellation of 618 low earth orbit satellites, OneWeb is poised to provide broadband internet services globally, reaching even the most remote corners of the world.
