Wipro Extended The Closing Date For Its Rs 12,000 Crore Buyback Offer
Due to the change in stock market holiday, IT firm Wipro extended the closing date for its Rs 12,000 crore buyback offer on Tuesday to June 29, Thursday, in honour of Bakra Eid. The June 22-opened Wipro buyback will now end on June 30, Friday, rather than June 29, Thursday. According to Wipro's regulatory filing, the business stated that SEBI had authorised an extension of the tendering period by 1 (one) working day due to the change in the working day from June 29, 2023, to June 28, 2023, through email dated June 27, 2023. As a result, instead of being on June 29, 2023, the buyback closing date will now be on June 30, 2023. According to the instructions, a buyback must be active for five working days. As a result, Wipro's repurchase, which was scheduled to end on June 29 because June 28 was considered a public holiday, did not. Following the Maharastra government's decision to move the Bakra Eid celebration from June 28 to June 29, exchanges made changes as well, including Wipro's buyback offer.
