Nifty PSE Index

The Nifty PSE Index comprises 20 stocks listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) where 51% of the company’s outstanding share capital is held by the Central Government and/or State Government, directly or indirectly.

How is the Nifty PSE Index Calculated?

The free float market capitalization method is used to calculate the Nifty PSE Index. Each index level represents the entire free float market value of all the companies in the index in relation to a specific base market capitalization value.

Eligibility Criteria for Selection of Constituent Stocks

  • Businesses should be included in the Nifty 500 at the time of the evaluation. The requisite number of stocks will be chosen from the top 800 based on average daily turnover and average daily complete market capitalization over the preceding six months, if the number of eligible stocks within the Nifty 500 industry falls below 10.
  • Companies must have the central government and/or state government, either directly or indirectly, own 51 percent of their outstanding share capital.
  • The company's trading frequency needed to have been at least 90% for the preceding half-year.
  • The company's listed history must have been active for at least one month as of the deadline.
  • The final selection of 20 companies is based on the free-float market capitalization of the companies.
