- Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited, a joint venture between Canara Bank (51%), HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific) Holdings Limited (26%) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (23%) was incorporated on September 25, 2007 as Canara HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Company Limited', a Public Limited Company and received a Certificate of Commencement of Business dated January 28, 2008 from the Assistant Registrar of Companies, Karnataka.
- The name of the Company was changed to Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited' after Oriental Bank of Commerce ceased to be in existence pursuant to the Scheme of Amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce with PNB, which became effective from April 1, 2020 and a fresh Certificate of Incorporation, consequent upon change of name, was issued to the Company by the RoC on June 15, 2022.
